Workspaces

A Workspace is a container that groups all the automation pieces for a specific task or software.

What is a Workspace?

Think of a Workspace as a project folder. If you want to automate data entry into Tally, you create a Workspace for Tally. If you also automate Marg ERP, you create a separate Workspace for Marg.

Each Workspace holds:

Creating a Workspace

  1. Go to Workspaces — Click "Workspaces" in the left sidebar after logging in.
  2. Click "Create Workspace" — You'll see a form with the following fields.
  3. Fill in the details:
    • Workspace Name — A descriptive name like "Tally Invoice Entry"
    • Description — What this workspace automates (optional but helpful)
    • Compatible Software — Type software names and press Enter to add tags (e.g., Tally Prime, Marg ERP, Excel). Max 10.
  4. Save — Your workspace is created. Now you can set up tools and flows inside it.

Inside a Workspace: The 3 Tools

Every workspace comes with 3 tools pre-configured. Each tool handles a different type of document processing. You assign a Flow to each tool to tell it how to enter data.

Table Extraction

Extracts structured rows and columns from images, PDFs, or Excel files using AI.

Text Extraction

Extracts raw text blocks from documents. Good for text-based automation tasks.

Bulk Bill Generation

Generates invoices and bills in bulk using extracted data and templates.

Tip: You only need to use the tools that matter for your use case. Most users primarily use Table Extraction — it's the core of DashX.

Assigning Flows to Tools

Each tool in a workspace needs a Flow to know how to enter data. You can:
